KCCM is the only Oriental Medicine College in the five state area of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas and Oklahoma. KCCM is a Private College dedicated to the service or our community and the advancement of Traditional Chinese Medicine education and healthcare.

Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) has seen phenomenal growth in the last ten years. There are an estimated 15,000 nationally certified acupuncturists practicing in the United States and most U.S. medical schools now offer courses in integrative care. The growing interest in Chinese Medicine is exhibited by the number of students enrolled in schools offering professional programs in Oriental Bodywork, Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
In comparison the statistics are staggering:
- According to a 1999 Kaiser Survey, more than 69% of respondents have used complementary medicine, up from 34% in 1990
- In 1997 there were 629 million visits to complementary medicine practitioners compared to 386 million visits to mainstream primary care physicians
- According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, Americans using complementary therapies spend over $34 billion annually. This is more than all out-of-pocket expenditures for physician visits and hospitalizations.
- By 2001, the number of insurance companies covering Acupuncture treatments rose to over 14,000
- Massage Magazine reports more than one in four Americans report having a massage from a massage therapist in the past five years equaling 114 million visits each year spending a staggering $4-6 billion annually
- NCCAOM reports one of every 10 adults in the United States has tried Acupuncture
